Legal options may be available via criminal defense

Summertime often seems to bring an increase in crimes in Louisiana, particularly crimes involving robbery. A recent burglary occurred in Lake Charles, and three people are now suspects of committing the crime. The three have a right to criminal defense that is protected by the United States Constitution.

The alleged crime occurred at a bar and deli on a recent Sunday night. The thieves appeared to have gained entrance to the establishment after hours by cutting a hole in the wall, which caused several thousands of dollars of damage. In addition to the damage to the property, three poker machines were reportedly broken into and their cash boxes were taken.

Three suspects were identified based on security video that was taken of the incident. Two of the suspects were arrested, and a warrant was issued for the arrest of the third suspect. The third suspect is a woman, and she remains at large. The charges against the accused include damage to property over $50,000 burglary and theft of between $1,000 and $5,000.

Being accused of a crime in Louisiana can have serious implications for one's future. It is important to keep in mind that the accused person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law. Those accused in this case have the right to a criminal defense, and a knowledgeable attorney can apprise them of their rights and what legal options may be available to them. Some of these options may include the possibility of reduced sentences or reduced charges. When a person's future is at stake, all options should be explored.
