Fatal car accidents cause survivors immense grief

The unexpected death of a loved one is never easy to accept. Crowded Louisiana roadways contribute to an increase in the number of car accidents that occur annually on area highways. A recent fender bender became a tragic fatal accident on a recent Sunday evening when another vehicle became involved. The accident happened on an elevated expressway near New Orleans.

Three men were working to move a disabled vehicle from the roadway. The SUV had reportedly become disabled as a result of an earlier crash. Another vehicle approached the incident and failed to stop and was unable to avoid colliding with the three men who were helping to move the disabled vehicle. The impact caused the men to be thrown from the elevated roadway.

They were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver who reportedly caused the men to fall received minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. He has since been placed under arrest and faces multiple charges. The charges include vehicular homicide, negligent injury and not wearing a seat belt. The driver is also suspected of having been impaired at the time of the crash.

The death of a loved one because of a traffic accident in Louisiana is a horrible pain to bear and it is made worse when the driver believed to be responsible is suspected of impaired driving. Car accidents caused by impaired drivers are preventable. The pain caused by the tragedy will not soon be relieved. A person who has suffered such a loss may wish to consult with a personal injury attorney. A knowledgeable lawyer can review the facts of the case and help the client determine if a civil suit against the party deemed responsible is a viable option and a successfully litigated claim can provide compensation for final costs and other verifiable losses.
