Traffic laws and rules are in effect for Louisiana and the rest of the country to ensure the safety of all travelers on roadways. When they are ignored, serious car accidents can occur. Sadly, one family has become the victim of a tragic vehicle accident, following the alleged negligence of a log truck driver.

According to the video accompanying the article, the accident occurred early in the morning. Reportedly, a log truck driver pulled into the path of an eastbound SUV. The SUV was occupied by a 29-year-old female driver and two minor passengers.

Sadly, the SUV driver suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Her passengers, who are reported to be ages 9 and 5, were also injured. The minors were taken to a hospital for treatment, and both are expected to survive. No injuries were reported for the 44-year-old truck driver. Authorities reported that the log truck driver has already been issued a traffic citation related to the crash.

Unexpected fatal car accidents like this one are certainly a shock for any family. Whether families experience financial stress from medical expenses and/or funeral expenses, it is a lot to process. Louisiana personal injury attorneys are familiar with complicated and sad accidents, and they are also familiar with processing accidents with truck companies. Attorneys can assist families with filing insurance claims and/or lawsuits in civil court against negligent drivers. Some families may find a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit to be the best course of action for their individual situation and needs.
